The use of future continuous tense in English (EFL/ESL Grammar: English tenses)
The future continuous or progressive is used to talk about actions that will happen in the future and continue to a certain point of time.
The form of the future continuous:
Subject + will + be + verb + ing |
Example:
- I will be studying English tomorrow from 2 to 4.
- I will be working on project tomorrow morning.
The use of future continuous tense:
- The future continuous is used to talk about progressive actions and events that will happen in the future
Examples:
- I will be flying to Canada tomorrow.
- I will be playing football from 5.00 to 7.00 this evening.
- They will be watching a movie this night. Would you like to join me?
- She will be sitting next to the beach.
- The future continuous is used to ask politely for or to do things.
Examples:
- Will you be joining us in the party tomorrow?
- Will you be sleeping with us tonight?
- Will she be coming with us?
Forms of future continuous tense

Interrogative |

Notes:
- To express negation, we add (not) after “will”.
- To express interrogation, we invert “will” with the subject.
- “I’ll be studying” is the short form of “I will be studying”.
- “I won’t be studying” is the short form of “I will be studying”.

- Tomorrow, I will be swimming with my friends. You can join us.
- I will be doing some housework this evening. I can’t join you.
- She will be writing her article.
- They will be talking about the importance of education.
- She won’t be sitting here.
- Will he be coming to the party?
