Educators around the world know that tests’ results don’t represent learners’ abilities and capacities. They produce a much-narrowed view of intelligence and often mislead learners, teachers, parents, and the whole society.
If what is tested is just a set of knowledge and academic skills but not everything, then one can’t claim that tests’ results reflect everything about students.
Before looking at the most essential personality traits, it is quite important to ask a few questions: 1) What do tests measure and why? 2) Why should one be testing and why? 3) Are tests the best tools to measure students’ learning? 4) What roles can personality play in students’ life?5) Do personal qualities such as creativity, enthusiasm, resilience ….etc. matter in students’ life and career?
